Dreams

Reena parked her car, a brand new BMW in the garage. Her day was hectic. The sales weren’t working up to the standards and she was under more pressure from the top management to correct it. As she entered the house, she saw Ravi lying on the couch sipping beer and watching football. He looked at her, his face had an obvious question mark over it.
“So?” he asked. “I haven’t changed my mind Ravi” she grunted, throwing her bag on the table she went to the washroom.
“You cannot do this Reena! I mean HOW CAN YOU!” Ravi stressed as he followed her. “We are not ready for it! Don’t you get it?!” she made her argument while splashing water on her tired face. “I’ve had enough of this daily arguments Ravi! I’ve already taken the appointment, I’m getting it done tomorrow” she concluded the topic with a harsh tone. A distraught Ravi went back to the couch. It had been his bed for the past week.
Neither of them had dinner. Reena went to bed, anger still pouring out from her face. The fights have not stopped since the day they found Reena was pregnant. Ravi, who was overjoyed with the feeling of becoming a father was shocked when he heard Reena saying that she does not want the baby. She was due a promotion in the coming appraisal cycle and she could not miss it for a pregnancy leave!
Ravi had tried explaining it to her in every possible way and finally even pleaded her to not go ahead with it, but Reena was firm on her decision. As she went to bed that night, she taught how unsupportive her husband has become of her. And how her feelings are of no concern to him now. Her head was going blank thinking of the fights they had recently.
The next thing she knew was that he was on her way to the doctor early in the morning. Since the doctor was a 10mins walk away from their home she chose to walk there instead of taking the car. On her way, she went past a garden. The fresh breeze kissed her face gently. She checked her wrist watch, there was still good half an hour for the appointment. She thought to have a quiet time in the park.
Just as she sat on a bench, she heard a faint cry. She wasn’t sure if it was in her head or real. After trying to listen more closely she heard it again. She got up and tried to find the source. Some 15 meters across in the bushes. Checking in she saw it. A child, maybe 2-3yrs old, squatting, with its head between its legs, crying with all its might! She was shocked! She asked, “Where are your parents?” The child did not respond. “What’s your name? Are you lost?” she inquired again without any reply! She looked around to see if there was anyone searching for the kid. She could find no one.
As she went towards the child, it looked at her, opening its arms, she was taken aback, and it had no face, and said, “Maa! Don’t kill me please!”
A startled Reena suddenly got up. She was completely soaked in sweat, her breathing was heavy. Her eyes were like a dam burst open, tears gushing out without ant restraint. She sprung out from the bed ran towards the living room, and hugged Ravi with everything she had. An obviously surprised Ravi asked, “What happened baby? Are you ok?”

“I’m.. so …so sorry Ravi..it was all my fault” she sobbed. Ravi understood her wife’s emotions, he smiled and hugged her tight. The next morning the first thing Reena did was to call up the doctor and cancel her appointment.

MOONSTRUCK

(P.S. Visualizing the story in your mind will give you a better experience! :P )

Inspector Ashutosh came running inside the office. "Sir, we found another dead body...well sort of" he says with a sweaty and shocked look. His superior looks at him with mirrored expressions. It was the 10th murder within 2 months. All in similar fashion. The victim was brutally dismembered. Only the face was left untouched. Such murders were the first of its kind. Usually serial killers target people that have something in common. But here, there wasn’t. The police and the investigative agencies were in a fix! The public had started to panic and people were afraid to go out at night.
In a house not too far away from the latest murder scene, a man, fair complexion, long dark brown hairs flowing along the shoulders, came out of a dark basement. A faint groaning sound emitted from behind him as he locked the door. His face was sweaty, but his breath was stable. He went to his room on the first floor. Going in he was careful not to touch anything as he entered the bathroom. He gently washed off his smooth and frail looking hands. They slowly regained their white color from the initial red color due to the blood spilled over them. He then washed off his face wiped off and came back down. Sitting on the couch, he turned on the television set. In the news, “Serial Killer Strikes Again!”
The man’s face slowly started to glow with a smile. A sense of achievement gripped him and his eyes gleamed with pride. He slowly poured whiskey into a broad glass, added some soda in and topped it with couple of pieces of ice. He then started to stir his drink with what looked like a human finger. After a minute of stirring he stopped, removed the finger and threw it aside. He then drank the whole drink in one shot. He laid on the couch watching the news, with the smile still as bright as it was. When his eyes opened, he could see that it was already dark. Half past seven maybe, he thought.
He got up and went to his room. Washed hi face and headed down the basement. It was completely silent. As he turned on the light, a pool of blood became visible. At the end of it, a man, bleeding from multiple cuts, was lying in a fetal position. As he walked in, he stood by a table and emptied his pockets. A range of different surgical knives. The man then went ahead, picked up one of them and moved towards the lying body. He gently kicked him, which brought the unconscious man to his senses as he started to groan in pain again. “Let me go…let me go please” he pleaded. But his torturer did not show any remorse. He held his left hand and stretched them straight, laying his palm firm on the floor. Without wasting a moments time a clean cut and his ring finger was detached. After 7 days of trial, this was the first time a finger came out so cleanly. A loud scream followed. The man got up and moved towards the table. He placed the finger in a vessel. Then taking some bandages, secured the bleeding of his victim.
The victim, still crying in pain, tried comprehending as to what was happening. “I cannot let you die by blood loss” he explained in a calm voice. Standing up, he said, “I’ll meet you tomorrow now”
The crying man saw his punisher move out the room and heard the door lock. He tried his best to move but he could not. All of his tendons necessary for motions were sliced on the very first day. The cuts were precise and done expertly so as to not damage any other part or cause heavy bleeding. Every morning, various mixtures like salt & pepper were applied to his wounds that burned like on fire. But he can never forget the pain he felt when he was operated and was castrated. He forgot when it was done, but it was surely after all his nails were plucked out by a plier and before his right eye was gouged out. Crying and groaning, he went into the fetal position again.
Outside, his enforcer was getting ready. With makeup, wig, high heels, waxing his entire body and fake lenses, he had completely disguised himself as a woman. Finally changing into a woman’s dress and taking a large purse, he left the house. He took his car to a secluded area and parked it. Getting out he started loitering around. Not much time had passed when a guy approached him. He held him by his shoulders and said, “Hey babe, my name is Ram. What is a beauty like you doing here at this hour? Do you mind if I take you for a ride?” in a particularly lewd manner.
“Hello, my name is Rakesh, and I was waiting for you!” the man turned as he hit the pervert with a metal cast that was hiding inside his purse. Once unconscious, Rakesh dragged Ram towards his car. From the back compartment, he took out a bag. Opening it, he revealed an array of intruments, such as saw, hammer, pliers and wrench. Dragging the body to the bushy area nearby, Rakesh took his time to carve the body of his latest abuser turned victim. As he was doing it a flashback came to him.
A 24yr old Rakesh standing beside a body of his 28yr old sister who was brutally raped and then killed. After a lengthy court case the victim was sentenced to 5yrs of imprisonment. The lawyer stated that he did his best. But Rakesh wasn’t convinced. He wanted more! And swore to take revenge for the only family he had, his sister. A good student once, slowly he started losing his grades, to a point where the dean of the college had to make him leave his medical studies. Though it took another six months for him to completely lose his sanity.
He was always teased by his friends that he looked like a girl. Taking this to his advantage, he started going to secluded areas dressed as a girl and kill anyone who tried to physically abuse him. By luck one day the man who was also responsible for his sister’s death caught him from the back and tried to rape him. Much to Rakesh’s joy. Now he could finally take his revenge. Since that day he has held the man captive. Slowly torturing him. But not to die, to live. To experience what his sister experienced and what he experienced. He wanted him to feel it every day and so was giving him the first aid as well. As he finished carving up his victim, he washed his hands and instruments with spirit and drove back home.

Parking his car he went to his room, removed all his makeup and had some food. As he lay on his bed, a tear flowed out of his eye. After so many years this was the first time he was going to have a peaceful sleep for 8 days running! My sister’s soul would be happy as well, he thought. “I will give justice to all” he murmured as the sleep took him into its arms.

The Diary

The party was in full swing. All kinds of beverages flowing like water. It was Ashok’s house warming party after all. He had just bought a new house, a bungalow. Two storied, imperial design with six large bedrooms. Ashok was always the best person in his group when it came at throwing a party. It was around 2am now, Ashok took his leave from the bustling living room to go to the toilet. Since the one at the ground floor wasn’t repaired yet he had to go to the master bedroom on the first floor. As he passed a room on the right he though he heard something. He slowly glanced inside the room he had just passed. There were dolls and a tea set lying around. He shook his head and moved towards the master bedroom. After finishing his work as he was washing his hands he saw something lying beneath the bathtub. His curiosity got the better of him. He went ahead and picked it up. It was a diary. It read “Diary for 1981”. As he opened the first page, he saw, “To Anand, Happy Birthday! (20th July 1981)”
He turned the pages to start reading the diary entries
July 24th
Finally all settled in. Anita is looking so beautiful sleeping. Was such a hectic day, shifting to a new place and all. I seriously hope we make some great memories here. The bungalow is great, spacious rooms, nice kitchen, big windows and veranda is really awesome.
July 25th
Was a good day at office. Anita is preparing something delicious, at least the smell is super good. Tanya is playing with her dolls inviting me for a tea party, how can a man not go to the tea party of her daughter! Off I go…
July 28th
Tanya was not feeling well since past couple of days. It seem she had a bad nightmare. She cried the whole night on 25th. She is feeling a lot better now. Anita almost got sick herself worrying about her.
July 31st
Month end trip with family was a hit. Loved the weather. Gentle rains made everything even better. Both mother and daughter are sleeping so soundly, occupying the whole bed that I had to come to Tanya’s room to sleep tonight…….wait, there’s some sound coming from the bed room…
August 7th
I cannot believe Anita..the way she’s behaving! In this age, she believes in supernatural and spirits! She hasn’t stopped fretting since that night. She said she heard water running from the master bathroom and when she went to check she saw blood gushing out of the shower! When I reached she was on the floor crying, the bathroom was all clean and dry! Tanya is trying her best to act ok, but watching her mother like this is taking a toll on her.
August 9th
Took Anita to doctor today. He say it’s some kind of mental stress. I don’t know what’s happening. Everything seems so gray now.
August 10th
Anita is feeling whole lot better now. And I had a weird encounter while having a bath now. A cool breeze went over my face. I’m wondering how, since the bathroom window was closed.
August 11th
Things are getting weirder here. Today Tanya saw something peeping through the windows multiple times. I would’ve overlooked it but even Anita saw it. Don’t know what’s happening here. Will go talk to the neighbor’s about it tomorrow.
August 12th
People in the neighborhood are very cold. They won’t even talk to me properly. And the peeping still continues. Seems like I need to talk to the police now.
August 13th
Spoke to the police, they said they’ll look into it. Tanya is behaving weird since yesterday. Locked up in her room. She says she wants to go back as she doesn’t like the people who live here.
August 14th
Now it’s getting out of hands. Anita has again started with the ghost’s thing, and Tanya still won’t come out of her room. I cannot believe that all those memories I wished to create here are ending up like this! I’ll go talk to the real estate agent tomorrow.
August 15th
I…I was soo wrong….while everyone is celebrating Independence Day, we have been trapped here. The doors won’t open, the windows won’t budge nor break, the phone lines are out. Banging and screaming isn’t working as the other bungalows are far out from each other. And now even I can see them peeping in from the windows! The only thing that can be described of them are their blood red eyes! There is no way for us to get the word out. Anita and Tanya are hiding in the attic. I’m sitting here in the living room with a bat.
Ashok gulped as he continued reading further,
August 16th
Still trapped in the house. Tanya is still crying, though Anita is gaining her composure back. There were many shadows running all around windows last night. It seems we have no choice but to wait this out.
August 17th
This was the worst day of my life…..Anita totally lost it in the morning and stabbed herself with the kitchen knife!!!!!! I’ve done some first aid but it doesn’t look too good…!! I have no idea what am I supposed to do! Tanya has frozen still seeing all this!!!
August 18th
Anita is trying her best to stay with me….Tanya is still in shock, sitting in staring at the roof. I cannot make her to eat anything yet…….I guess won’t be long before I lose it as well. There’s some noise in the kitchen………..
All is lost…….there were shadows trying to get inside the house from the kitchen window….tanya ran up to the attic…….and I heard her scream….. I dunno what happened to my little princess….the attic door is locked as well……………..how should I tell this to Anita!!!???
It wasn’t that difficult to tell her after all…she listened to it motionlessly……… I’ve lost both of the pillars of strength……….why is that I’m the only one here now!
I’m locked in the bathroom now……they have entered the house from the attic…. I can hear strange noises everywhere….something like chewing and chomping….
I have my knife here with me……. I will end it now…..but if anyone gets this diary and is reading this…. Get off this house as soon as you can! They gave us three weeks, don’t know how many hours you might get….run away…run awayyy!!

At this point Ashok’s fear was visible on his face, he wiped the sweat off his forehead. He got up to go and tell his friends about the diary. But just as he opened the toilet door, he heard screams from downstairs. Ashok froze with fear. His face turning pale. His friends were being murdered! He got back to his senses and closed the door shut. He crouched inside the bathtub with his hands over his ears so as to avoid hearing the agonizing screams of his friends. He sat there for the rest of the night. As the voices dulled he got up, kept the diary back from where he found it and moved slowly towards the door. He still did not have the courage to open it though. So he just peeped through the keyhole. On the other side, he saw a bright red, with distinctly visible black pupil string at him! And with a loud noise the door was cracked open!

Friendship's Day!!

Late to post this. Almost like month old now. Since Friendships day was start of the month.

It is rightly said that things don't last forever. Things perish or change. The blackening of silver, waves in the ocean or even the time on the clock. The only constant thing in this world is change. Even as Humans. If Someone tells us that we have changed, we don't need to deny it in amusement. Be proud of it. Coz we all hope that change is for our own good.

Even our Friends change during the course of our time. Our priorities change. Our Perception about the world and the society we live in changes. At times Relationships go in vain, And get to hear things like, You are not the same, You have changed. You have started behaving differently. What is wrong?. We meet new people and those old pals don't excite you any more. We Bitch about them behind their backs. We become friends for a purpose and stop maybe coz the purpose is over or we don't feel we belong with them any more.

This has possibly happened to many of us, things fade away, Love is lost, Things are just not the same anymore.

1st Friendships Day - Happy Friendships Day!!
2nd Friendships Day - Happy Friendships Day!! Bestie...
3rd Friendships Day - Happy Friendships Day!!! Love :*
4th Friendships Day - .........

I think we were never friends. Its just that we found each other for our selfish needs. This was called friendship, even labelled as best friends for certain point of time but it all ended. For good :)

THE BEACH...

“Why me? Why me?” was the question going on his mind as he walked across a dark unlit shore. The curvy pattern that was made by the stick in his hand on the sand was being washed away by the waves. The expressions on his face were that of complete dejection. “This was not supposed to happen! It’s not true, it just cannot be true, and why am I here?” he thought to himself. Not knowing why he was wandering about the silent lifeless beach.
He was not able to hold onto it anymore as tears started to roll off his eyes. Never in his life had he felt so dejected, so faithless and deprived. All those hours of hard work seeming to go in wane. He had given up so much just for this day and in the end it was not enough. “All my friends cracked the exam, why only I couldn’t?” was the thought pestering him since a day before when his results were displayed.
The more he thought about it the more he felt the darkness and coldness inside him grew. He could see her face standing next to him, comforting him along the rest of his friends. Which made him feel a bit better, but then again thinking that she cleared the test with flying colors and would soon go on ahead of him made him feel depressed.
“Is there any meaning to life anymore? I tried my best, and yet I could not succeed what else I can do now? Such shame I have brought upon myself and my parents. Should I actually continue living? ” He wondered.
Thinking about all that he gave up just to prepare himself for this test made him choke. Thinking all this he became motionless for some time. “Enough, I’ve had enough. I don’t want to live anymore” he thought to himself. He looked towards the ocean, a simple way to die he thought. He never learned swimming.
He sat there thinking the consequences of his death. His parents would surely be devastated he thought and so will be his brother. But will anyone else even remember his name in a few years, he thought.  The answer to this made his determination even stronger. He was a no one, a nobody; he could feel his own self-respect crumbling away. And as the sun started to come up from the horizon he stood up to meet his fate, his destiny, in his words.
He heard a few stray dogs barking in a distance. He went up close to see that they were barking on the just hatched baby turtles emerging from their sandy nests. Seeing them crawl up gave a smile on his face, which did not last long as he saw the dogs chewing up on them as soon as they came up, few of those who managed to get away were picked up hovering seagulls. He felt like saving them but as he took a few steps ahead he thought that it doesn’t really matter. The turtles’ lives are as insignificant as his and he just stood there watching.

What happened next was something that surprised him. A hatchling, dodging all its prey’s reached the ocean and swam off. He couldn’t believe a creature so small, fending off such big predators in comparison to it and finally reaching its goal-the ocean. Were the turtles really as insignificant as he thought? And it looked like they were far more significant than he himself, who couldn’t even move ahead of a single hurdle-the exam.
