Peace, Happiness, Bliss..

Peace, Happiness, Bliss. Few words that are throw around quite a bit by people who seem to know everything. All of them seem to know what bliss is. What peace is. And all of them seem to be getting quite wealthy explaining it to others. That makes me wonder why do people keep seeking them? Or better yet, what’s with our innate desire with peace, happiness, and bliss?

To live is to suffer. As said by Buddha, maybe that’s why we keep seeking something to sooth us. But more often than not, what we want to sooth is our unquenchable thirst for more. As humans, we tend to keep on wanting more and more and more in life. When we were kids, we were taught in school that the earth has enough for everyone’s need but not for their greed. And it seems like this is where we are stuck at.

This always wanting more, is not only for physical or material things though. If you look around, you will understand that everyone around you is also desperate for immaterial things such as love, sympathy, power, and hate!

We always want more love from the ones we love and when we are down, we crave sympathy from everyone. Power is not something that everyone craves but the one’s who do go to extremes to satisfy their hunger for more and more power. Politicians and big shot industrialists are a perfect example, but we people heading religious organizations usually sit at an equal footing with the former two.

Now, for hate, very interestingly, once you hate something or someone, you will inherently start finding ways or things that will keep aligning with your own point of view. This will keep your hate going on for that person or thing.

How do we get out of this loop? That is a question worth a million dollars! But if someone truly figures it out, will they ask money for the answer to it, or give it away freely to the world for everyone’s benefit? Now, that's a question worth BILLION dollars! :D

This isn't something we can discuss in a single post or a short conversation. And will probably need some follow up posts to this. Or maybe if you, the person reading this, are a fellow seeker, do give me a ping and maybe we can have a virtual tête-à-tête!
